Cradles

Garneau Industries Cradle

GARNEAU'S CRADLES ARE PRIMARILY USED FOR HANDLING VARIOUS PIPE SIZES, WITH PROTECTION OF THE PIPE'S COATING IN MIND.

The cradle forms a continuous roller surrounding lower half of pipe to keep the pipe on center which eliminates pipe creasing and scarring. Rubber guide rollers keep pipe centered on large, rubber-tired cradle wheels which diistributes bearing pressures evenly to many rollers. Loads are directed to pipe center preventing sagging of pipe. Coated and wrapped pipe can be handled without danger or damage. Pipe is guided into the ditch as the tractor moves along the line. Eliminates multiple sideboom tractors, beltmen, "leap-frogging" of tractors.

Pipe can be kept closer to the ground; operators have more control, more maneuverability. The cradles are easily handled, stored and shipped. One size handles wide range of pipe sizes as the heavy duty frame adjusts to match various pipe sizes.

Elastomer-coated wheels, equipped with anti-friction bearings, are supported by four two-legged 1 in (25.4 mm) diameter (6x37IWRC) cables over special stiff back.  Available for pipe from 12 in (804.8 mm) to 60 in (1524 mm) diameter. Breaking strength: 392,800 lbs (178,174 kg) or 49.1 tons per line.
